Cookie Policy
Draft last updated 1 August 2026
1. What this covers
This policy explains the cookies and similar browser storage used by the
Cosmic Monkey marketing website and by the Cosmic Monkey analytics product.
"Cookies" here also means comparable technologies such as
localStorage and sessionStorage.
2. This marketing website
As of the date above, this website sets no cookies and uses no browser storage for tracking. It loads no third-party analytics, advertising, or social tags. Fonts are self-hosted, so no request goes to a third-party CDN. If that changes — for example if we add privacy-friendly analytics — this page will be updated and, where the law requires it, a consent banner will be shown before any non-essential storage is used.
3. Cookie categories (for when they apply)
Essential
Strictly necessary for a site or app to function — for example keeping you signed in to the product dashboard, remembering your consent choice, or protecting a form from abuse. These do not require consent, and the Service cannot be provided without them.
Analytics
Used to understand aggregate usage — which pages are visited, where visitors arrive from. These are not essential and, where required (e.g. for EEA / UK visitors under the GDPR and ePrivacy rules), are only set after you opt in. You can withdraw consent at any time.
4. The Cosmic Monkey tracking script is cookie-free
The analytics script that customers embed on their own sites
does not set cookies and does not use any cross-site or
device identifier. To stitch a single visit together it stores a short-lived
random session reference in the visitor's own
sessionStorage (cleared when the tab closes) and, for
return-visit attribution windows, a value in localStorage scoped
to the customer's domain. Nothing is shared across unrelated sites and no
personal identifiers are stored in that value.
Because sessionStorage / localStorage are
first-party and not transmitted automatically with every request the way
cookies are, most jurisdictions treat this as lower-risk than cookie-based
tracking — but where local law requires notice or consent for any
non-essential storage, the customer embedding the script is responsible for
surfacing that on their site.
5. Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies and clear local storage in your browser settings. Blocking essential cookies may break sign-in and other core features of the product dashboard.
6. Payment providers
Payment flows handled by Razorpay and Cashfree may set their own cookies on their pages for fraud prevention and to complete a transaction. Those are governed by their policies, linked from our Privacy Policy.
7. Changes
Updates will be posted here with a revised "last updated" date.
Finally,
you found us.
We were looking for you too. Cosmic Monkey is web analytics built for indie developers — see where your traffic actually comes from, without wading through a dashboard built for a marketing team of twenty. If you're tired of analytics tools that assume you have a team you don't, you're exactly who we built this for.
